Say hello to my little friends...nothing like new knobs!
Went to Starwest Sunday morning and cleared the biggest jump there (the one I have been avoiding for 2 months) - the 100 footer

A challenging calibration

This, is bad.

Here we have charts showing the power output and air/fuel reading of each cylinder. Runs 1-9 are the front cylinder, and 10-20 are the rear. The bottom half of each chart shows the air/fuel mixture across the RPM range at each throttle position which are not labeled here but are 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, and 100% throttle respectively.

The dashed line going straight across is set at 13.2 - the target fuel ratio that the fuel injection system has been programmed to run at. As you can see, it is way off of its target.

2005 Triumph Bonneville

A cool break from the typical bike we get rolling through the shop. I'm looking forward to the test ride.

Makeover on a 2007 FLHR

This is going to be cool with a fancy engine, some crazy handlebars, a massive fuel tank, a wide rear end, and a wicked paint job.

EFI calibration on a 95ci build

Great power from a 95ci setup. This bike was quite impressive once the fuel was straightened out. The lines at the bottom show the rear cylinder air/fuel ratio throughout the rpm range at various throttle positions.

Clutch is slipping

I am in the process of tuning a bike with a carburetor. Compared to a fuel injected bike, there is much less opportunity to custom tailor the fuel mixture. The blank spot in the graph is where the computer cannot calculate the power. The relationship between the engine speed and rear wheel speed is varying and it cannot do it's math accurately. Cause: slipping clutch.

Motocross

The experience has been among the most thrilling of my life. The learning curve over the last year has been non-stop improvement. It has been extremely challenging both mentally and physically. This sport has produced very high levels of fear, excitement, anxiety, euphoria, discipline, achievement.

Welcome to my blog

Welcome to the mind of Geoff Gaites.

I am going to try this. I don't think I have time for it, but let's see what happens. I will invite my family and my friends and my customers and see how this takes shape.

The main topics of my life include but are not limited to; God, my growing family, motorcycles.
